About Us

Tumor genomic characterization has greatly transformed cancer research and enabled personalized cancer treatment. At Function Oncology, we have created a tech and data platform that uses CRISPR to directly access functional biological data to guide next generation precision medicine. Our goal is to overcome the limitations of sequence-based approaches to dramatically expand the number of patients who benefit from precision oncology. Position Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated Scientist to join our Molecular Biology and NGS team. The candidate will implement and run NGS workflows and automation. In addition, the candidate will support development and optimization of our CRISPR-based precision oncology technologies.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Essential duties and responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
  • Routinely run NGS workflows for WES, amplicon-, and other targeted sequencing
  • Prepare samples, generate libraries, sequence, and generate and analyze data
  • Implement the automation for NGS processes wherever possible
  • Oversee cell culture in support of sample preparation


Perform all duties in keeping with the Company's core values, policies and all applicable regulations.

Qualifications:
  • A BS/MS/PhD in Molecular Biology or a related discipline with a minimum of 5 years of industry and/or academic hands-on lab experience
  • Strong background in molecular biology and genomics
  • Expertise in sample preparation methods and detailed experience in operating Illumina sequencers
  • Experience with emerging NGS technologies and applications, such as single cell genomics and epigenome sequencing
