Overview / ResponsibilitiesWood Environment & Infrastructure Solutions is currently seeking a Geologist / Environmental Scientist / Engineer as a technical task manager to join our North Atlantic Operations team and will reside in either the Portland, Maine, Rocky Hill, Connecticut, or Bayside New York office. Remote work outside of the offices listed may be considered based on qualifications of applicant. The successful candidate will provide technical support for project managers on commercial and federcal clients, primarily in the northeast. Projects generally include delivery of investigation and remediation projects at contaminated Sites. Prior experience in writing work plans, analyzing and evaluating environmental data and assisting with report preparation for submittal to our clients and regulatory agencies, is desired .Key Responsibilities :Assist in planning and scope development for various environmental site investigation activitiesProvide support to field staff to who are working to complete soil borings and groundwater monitoring well installations, collect soil, groundwater, surface water, sediment, air, and soil gas samples in complex field situationsResource to the project manager and owner and may serve as a point of contact for addressing project-related questions, changes in scope of work, quality concerns or project delaysPrepare components of site investigation reports including work plans, data summaries, calculations, tables, figures, charts, drawings and report textAssist Project Managers and project teams, ensuring effective client communication and relationsOrganize field work, assign tasks, and work with other staff specialists to complete assignmentsParticipate in proposal effortsCollaboration and participation in technical discussions with team membersFull engagement in project responsibilities and working closely with project manager to ensure timeliness of regulatory submittals and client satisfactionSkills / QualificationsRequirements :BS or MS in Geology, Environmental Science or Engineering, or related technical fieldThe ideal candidate will possess over 4 to 6 years of task management experienceEnvironmental project experience in multimedia site investigations and remediationDemonstrated staff management and leadership abilitySuperior time management, planning and ability to interact with clientsEffective communication, report writing and presentation skillsStrong interpersonal skills and the ability to work well with teamMust pass drug test, background check and must have a satisfactory driving record in accordance with the Company's driving (MVR) policyPhysical Demands :Ability to remain on feet for extended periods of time either stationary or walkingCompany OverviewWood is a global leader in engineering and consultancy across energy and the built environment, helping to unlock solutions to some of the world's most critical challenges.
