THE OPPORTUNITYWe are looking for an energetic, self-starter and team-oriented person to manage the environmental compliance and employee health & safety team with the primary responsibility of implementing and maintaining XP Power's global safety management framework. Someone who looks for areas of improvement and thrives in a continuous improvement process.You will partner with various departments, focusing to develop cross-functional solutions for EHS (environmental health & safety) security, facilities, risk management, human resources stakeholders.A person who will help XP Power to continually identify, evaluate and monitor risks that could affect XP Power's employees and its visitor's well-being.A person who will collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop innovative strategies and programs that drive sustainable and effective environmental compliance and employee health & safety programs.A person who will stay informed of local, federal, and state laws and regulations regarding environmental compliance and occupational safety.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIESLead the ISO14001 & ISO 45001 management system across six North America sites.Manages and supports all teams with corrective action plans that may have resulted during audits.Inspects the facilities to identify risks associated with employee health and safety.Develops and implements monthly inspection procedures and policies to mitigate identified risks.Develops schedule of routine inspections.Prepares and schedules employee training to cover emergency evacuations.Prepares and schedules employee workplace safety training and other relevant topics.Develops a monthly "safety" topic and distributes to all facilities for all to be on the same page (One XP)Maintains records of all Health & Safety related activities.Ensures that material safety data sheets are maintained and are readily accessible when needed.Monitors compliance with safety procedures.Review compliance and maintains all regulatory requirements with the respective AHJ, air discharge permits, storm water discharge permits, local POTW permits, NPDES permits, etc.Develop, implement, and manage all environmental, health and safety (EHS) compliance programs Ensuring compliance with federal, state and local EH&S related laws, regulations and rules affecting all aspects of our business.Responsible for developing, updating, and revising Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) to ensure compliance with EHS requirements.Serve as primary contact for regulatory agencies and local officials regarding permitting, inspections, reporting, and emergency response.Monitors the visitor log for compliance to XP Power policies.Performs other related duties as assigned.Performs complaint investigations, research environmental and health and safety regulations.On a monthly basis, generates reports of the status of the Health & Safety Program for all XP Power sites.Position requires travel to different XP Power sites in NA (ALL sites).
KEY Qualifications and SkillsExtensive knowledge of environmental state and federal regulations and policies.Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.Proficient in technology and equipment used in environmental inspections.Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite or similar software.Proficient in Power Point PresentationsBachelor's degree in Environmental Safety, Occupational Safety and Health, or related field required.Five years of related experience preferred.Registered Professional Certifications in environmental or safety field. PSM, RMP, CSP, etc.OSHA 30, 500 or 501
