Job Description
Reporting to the EH&S Manager, support the EH&S department through development and implementation of safety and environmental initiatives, processes, evaluations, improvements and corrective action.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
  • Assist in new hire safety orientation
  • As directed, develop, update and implement EH&S Procedures, Manuals and Plans in compliance with local, state and federal regulations
  • Provide technical and regulatory support activities to maintain low incidence rates and high level of compliance
  • Help promote cultural change to improve safety, hygiene and environmental performance
  • Support and participate as an active member of ETI's Emergency Response Team.
  • Develop training material and assist in training ETI team members on EH&S regulations, procedures, emergency response, and company and customer EH&S protocols
  • Support the Environmental System (ISO14001) and Health and Safety System (ISO 45001)
  • Perform facility walk-thru's to evaluate safety controls and team member adherence to safety requirements and protocols. Record findings and assist in development of countermeasures.
  • Visit other EBARA Technologies site locations as well as customer location to support audits, investigations and to perform training.

Education
  • 4-yr degree in Environmental Sciences, Health and Safety or Engineering required.

Experience
  • Relevant EH&S experience (minimum of 1 year) in a manufacturing facility or environment
  • Some experience with Regulatory Agencies (OSHA, Fire Safety, Air Resources Board, etc.) in support of permitting and compliance inspections
  • Experience or understanding of SDS (Safety Data Sheet) management
  • Perform Safety Audits; assist in summarization of findings, reporting, follow-up on findings
  • Preferred knowledge / experience:
  • Hazardous Waste (manifests, requirements, safe handling)
  • Chemical Safety including Laboratory Safety, Process Safety (Hazard Assessment and Control)
  • General Safety including Occupational Safety (OSHA)
  • Chemical Hygiene including PPE Assessment, Exposure Control and Industrial Hygiene Monitoring
  • Environmental Compliance
  • Emergency Response and Business Continuity Planning
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal and technical writing skills with the ability to interact professionally with all levels within the organization, regulatory agencies and customers
  • Safety Professional Certification (CHMM,ASP or CSP) a plus
