Employee Role/Responsibilities:

All ELEMENT consults are required to follow the compliance of all Federal, State, and local regulations. Passing all necessary state certifications and annual testing. Primary responsibilities include inspecting, evaluating, and assessing environmental hazards/situations in the built environment, site assessments, accurately measuring and sampling all levels of exposure to asbestos, lead, mold, bacterial, and carcinogens. Other responsibilities include project design, air monitoring, sampling, excavation oversight, and compiling all sampling data to prepare technical reports. Performing inventory checks, adhering to client management responsibilities, and following all marketing disciplines may also be necessary. The role of the consultant shall be: motivated, hard-working, and able to deliver the desired customer service to drive success and improve customer satisfaction, as well as maximize customer retention, and increase profitability.

Qualifications

Full-Time position: (70% time spent in the field, 30% time spent clerical duties)

Benefits-eligible including sick, PTO, & health insurance

Degree from an accredited college or university; experience in the field is a plus (Diploma and/or transcripts may be required at time of employment)

A combination of applicable work experience or combined field experience may be considered

Valid (unrestricted) driver's license with a clean Motor Vehicle record required

Excellent written and oral English language skills

Proficient Microsoft Office programs experience

Ability to work flexible shifts and to adapt to changing work schedules

Willing to work off-hours, weekends, and out of town

A pre-employment criminal background check will be conducted as part of the selection process

Must be able to take and pass all related federal & state courses

Must Be Able To

Essential Functions/Requirements

Operate all equipment (such as tools, pumps, microscopes, etc.)

Perform on-site assessments and clearances (carry equipment, utilize tools provided)

Be a detailed note-taker (adhering to a sample scheme, drawing map configurations, etc.)

Sit for long periods of time (car) (to & from job locations)

Lift and/or move 50-80lbs minimum

Good vision to see different materials and/or textures on-site

Wear any and/or all protective equipment when necessary (gloves, boots, mask, full-body containment suits, etc.)

Proficient smartphone user for scheduling and necessary work duties for both employee and client needs (texting, emails, calendar scheduling, making calls)

Be a self-motivator who works and thinks independently, able to perform essential job functions and requirements

Required Experience

Previous consulting experience with asbestos, Lead-Based Paint, and microbial sampling: 1-year minimum

Required Education

BA, BS, or MS in Environmental Science Studies (equivalent or similar degree)

Certified AHERA Asbestos Building Inspector
  • Certified Asbestos Air Monitoring Specialist
  • Project Design

Certified EPA Lead Assessor and inspector
