We are looking for an exceptional Research Associate to support our scientific programs in developing novel cytokine mimetics. The ideal candidate will have some exposure to therapeutic candidate development, assay development and immunology. The focus of the research group is to develop differentiated immunotherapies arising from our de novo protein design platform. Potential therapeutic products include agonist and antagonist cytokine mimetics, as well as innovative applications in cellular therapy.
The selected Research Associate will be responsible for implementing in vitro experimental systems with guidance from the scientific team to translate our high-level strategic vision into scientific reality. Responsibilities:
Perform basic tissue culture of cell lines and primary cells
Perform previously optimized ELISAs for detecting cytokines, serum antibodies and therapeutic candidates in supernatants and ex vivo serum
Stain, acquire and analyze previously optimized flow cytometry panels for characterizing cell lines and primary cells of interest
Assist in processing of various ex vivo tissues
Support efforts to build an active and collaborative network within the organization
Work with manager to implement individual goals
In partnership with administrative management, the candidate will also be responsible for the implementation of and adherence to all applicable safety, stewardship, and other legal requirements.
Skills & Qualifications:
B.S. in applicable biological sciences. Commercial biotech experience a plus.
History of research during or post undergraduate degree.
Experience in basic pipetting and cell culturing systems.
Experience in learning new assays with transition to independent execution in short period of time.
Willingness to work with mouse and human ex vivo tissues such as blood.
Strong written and oral communication and presentation skills
Ability to work in a team environment encompassing multiple disciplines with excellent interpersonal and management skills
Ability to thrive in a fast-paced and entrepreneurial environment
Ability to function at a high level in a team setting
Flexibility to adapt to changing needs in real time
Ability to build strong relationships with co-workers of various backgrounds and expertise
