We are a systems neuroscience laboratory in the Department of Biology. We develop and employ novel two-photon microscopes and automated behavioral paradigms to address questions in neuroscience.
We are seeking an Optical and Software Specialist who can maintain and oversee the laboratory infrastructure and provide technical support to aid in research activities.
+ Assist in the construction and maintenance of instrumentation for optical recording/stimulation and behavior control/monitoring.
+ Develop and maintain software for data analysis and instrument control and automation for neuroscience applications.
+ Develop and maintain information technology for data management and processing.
+ Help manage lab safety and regulatory permits, grant budgets, and purchasing of equipment and supplies.
Required Skills
+ Bachelors Degree required, 1-3 years of relevant work experience
+ Programming skills are required in the following languages: LABView, MATLAB, C++, and Python.
+ Individuals with previous research experience and a multi-disciplinary background in mathematics, physics, engineering, or computer science are encouraged to apply.
