Biology Intern - Spokane, WA

We are seeking a currently enrolled Biology student for a summer 2022 internship, with the possibility to extend! In this internship you will assist in research and the environmental rehabilitation of a natural lake area in Spokane. Qualifications fora BiologyIntern Include:

• Pursuing degree in Biology, Wildlife/Fisheries, or a closely related field

Demonstrated organizational skills
Motivated team player with collaborative skills, excellent oral and written communication skills
Ability to navigate rough forest like terrain
Ability to apply sound judgment in decision making with strong orientation to detailed and high quality work
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
Current enrollment in college biology courses
Available for full-time work during Summer 2022
Currently living in the Spokane area

Preferred experience in wildlife, fisheries, and forest management

Responsibilities of a BiologyIntern Include:

• Conduct and report varying research projects

Integrate research and monitoring results into forest/aquatic management activities
Research and become knowledgeable about Spokane's official tree, the Ponderosa Pine and develop proper techniques to plant and nurture new trees
Coordinate wildlife, plant, and environmental survey efforts
Provide wildlife, fish, plant community, and landscape level environmental management strategies and support
Assist in development, management, and forecasting of project budgets
Monitoring water statistics in lake area
Ensure compliance with all environmental regulations
Assist in managing contracts and contractors
Special projects as requested
