The University of Hawaii Cancer Center (UHCC; an NCI Designated Cancer Center) is seeking an established investigator with significant experience in laboratory research in cancer biology, gene environment interactions, biomarker, or drug development for a tenure track position in the Cancer Biology Program. The position includes 80% protected time for translational research. The cancer biology program hosts scientists who are at the forefront of cancer research in gene x environment interactions and genetics. Researchers that may interact synergistically with them, either because of similar research interests or because they contribute expertise in areas that could integrate with current research activities and who have NCI or other National peer reviewed funding, are the ideal candidates. The successful candidate will serve as co-leader of the Cancer Biology program with a focus on translational research under the NCI Cancer Center Support Grant. Among the many core facilities and equipment available are ones supporting Genomics and Bioinformatics, Single Cell Genomics, Metabolomics, Analytical Biochemistry, Biostatistics, Pathology, Drug Discovery, Flow Cytometry and Microscopy. Opportunities and infrastructure are also available for translational research. The successful candidate will join a team of diverse and dynamic researchers devoted to groundbreaking research into the underlying mechanisms driving cancer and to developing novel diagnostics and therapeutics for cancer.

Qualifications:
MD, DO, MD/PhD or equivalent degree, four years in the rank of Assistant Professor, or four years of other medical experience, or a total of four years of teaching in the rank of Assistant Professor and other medical experience, or one year at the rank of Associate Professor at another medical school of recognized standing;
Meets qualification for medical licensure in the State of Hawaii;
Recognition for having made a significant scholarly contribution to the involved clinical specialty;
A strong research track record with active national peer-reviewed funding in cancer and/or clinical and translational research, with evidence of a sustained extramural funding base;
Track record of cutting-edge research with an outstanding record of scientific accomplishments as evidenced by high impact publications in top-tier journals
Professor level candidates should have four years in the rank of Associate Professor, or ten years of other medical experience or one year at the rank of Professor at another university of comparable standing
