Laboratory Technician

Description:

Position will be Tuesday-Saturday 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM * Assist scientists with experiment set-up, monitoring and data collection for greenhouse, laboratory, and controlled environment studies. * With detailed instructions, he/she will assist in treatment application and planting/processing/disposal of plants/pathogens per USDA guidelines. * Be a vital part of daily research activities, collecting/recording data and assisting in other tasks to facilitate timely completion of projects. * Contribute to maintaining a clean and compliant laboratory, greenhouse and/or controlled environment chamber. * Attend team and project meetings. Provide timely and frequent communication regarding any updates, changes, or issues that arise. * Ability to work effectively in a multi-project team environment and collaborate with colleagues to achieve goals, as well as work independently. * Reports to a manager and works under the guidance of several Scientists. REQUIREMENTS/PREFERENCES: BA/BS, with 0-1 year of greenhouse and/or laboratory agricultural testing experience preferred. The successful candidate will be meticulous, have a strong work ethic, be team-oriented and take direction well. IMPORTANT NOTE for POTENTIAL US CANDIDATES: Our client expects its colleagues to be fully vaccinated against COVID-19. Colleagues are also expected to disclose their vaccination status and if fully vaccinated, provide proof of vaccination status to Occupational Medicine. Our client defines fully vaccinated in alignment with CDC which is two weeks after completing the two-dose vaccine regimen or two weeks after completing the one-dose regimen. Additionally, colleagues are also required to comply with state, local and customer requirements.
