Job Description
CMI Group, Defense & Aerospace Manufacturing is seeking an Environmental Health and Safety Manager.

**Offering $1,000 new hire bonus, paid after 6 months of employment.**

Main location: 3617 E. La Salle St, Phoenix, AZ 85040 (South Phoenix - 40th St & Southern). Local travel to our other Phoenix area facilities will be required.

Responsibilities:
  • Inspects the facility to identify safety, health, and environmental risks.
  • Develops and implements inspection policies and procedures, and a schedule of routine inspections.
  • Develops health and safety procedures for all areas of the company.
  • Prepares and schedules training to cover emergency procedures, workplace safety, and other relevant topics.
  • Submits recommendations for improvements and additions to the safety management program including emergency preparedness, accident prevention, general safety, and risk management.
  • Monitors compliance with safety procedures.
  • Drafts inspection reports to document inspection findings.
  • Ensures that material safety data sheets are maintained and readily accessible when needed.
  • Maintains records of discharge of or employee exposure to hazardous waste and/or pollutants, as required.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

Required Skills/Abilities:
  • Extensive knowledge of environmental regulations and policies.
  • Extensive knowledge of security protocols and emergency preparedness.
  • Extensive knowledge of company safety policies and applicable Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) standards.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Proficient in technology and equipment used in environmental inspections.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office.

Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Environmental Safety, Occupational Safety and Health, or related field required; Master's degree desirable
  • Five years of related experience preferred.
  • Must be Authorized to work in the US
  • Physically able to conduct inspections and carry equipment used for inspections.
  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Must be able to lift up to 20 pounds on a regular basis.
