Research Associate/Senior Research Associate- Biologics Discovery
Specific Responsibilities: The Biologics Discovery group is a specialized team within the Protein Therapeutics function that is responsible for the discovery and optimization of biologic drug candidates. We seek a highly motivated Research Associate/Senior Research Associate to contribute to our efforts for biologics discovery, engineering and optimization. The successful candidate will work with cross-functional teams and play a key role in delivering Client biologics for growing biologics portfolios across several therapeutic areas Essential Duties and Job Functions: In this laboratory-based role, the successful candidate will support efforts to generate Client antibody-based therapeutics by applying B-cell and display-based technologies along with Next-Generation Sequencing (NGS).
· Utilize single B-cell FACS sorting or hybridoma to Client Client antibodies in support of project teams
· Identify antibody variable region sequences and prepare for recombinant expression through a variety of molecular biology techniques
·Experience and Skills: B.S./M.S. in molecular biology, biochemistry, or related field with 2 to 5 years of relevant professional experience. Job title will be commensurate with experience and academic credentials. An ideal candidate will have experiences in most of the following areas: · Hands-on experience in antibody discovery using B cell-based discovery platform (e.g. hybridoma, single B cell) or at least one display technology (e.g. phage, yeast, or mammalian display)
· Experience with biochemical assays and quantitative analysis of protein-protein binding interactions (e.g. FACS, ELISA, Octet). FACS-based cell sorting is a plus. · Experience in molecular cloning and familiarity in NGS · Familiarity in mammalian cell culture, and protein expression and purification · Experience in analyzing antibody sequences from antibody discovery campaigns · Excellent communication and organizational skills · Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment · Multi-tasking and self-motivated with excellent problem-solving skills
