Job Description

Vertex's Branchburg, NJ office is seeking an Environmental Project Manager/Assistant Project Managerto providefield oversight on a variety of projectsand workwith senior staff to assess sites in NY & NJ and across the country.

Core Responsibilities

• Manage and conduct Phase I Environmental Site Assessments (ESAs) andPhase II field investigation activities including soil, groundwater, soil gas, and indoor air sampling
• Schedule, coordinate, and oversee subcontractor activities for projects
• Compile and review laboratory and field data
• Prepare technical reports in accordance with internal quality control procedures and applicable regulations for senior review
• Provide oversight, training, and mentoring to junior staff
  
  

Skills & Abilities

• Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
• Ability to successfully execute and prioritize multiple complex tasks simultaneously under various conditions
• MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.)
• Ability to walk job sites during inspections, sometimes on uneven terrain
  
  

Qualifications

• BS in Geology, Environmental Science, Environmental Engineering, or related environmental field (MS a plus)
• 6+ years of professional experience inthe execution of Phase I Environmental Site Assessments, Phase II Subsurface Investigations, and remediation
• Working knowledge of New Jersey, New York and/or Pennsylvania regulations and sampling procedures
• EIT, PG, or PE certification a plus
• Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) Hazardous Waste Operations and Emergency Response Standard (HAZWOPER) 40-Hour training certification required
• OSHA 10-Hour Construction training certification required (training provided if necessary)
• Frequent travel and/or field work (valid driver's license and access to reliable transportation required)
