The Opportunity:

Clean Harbors in Manhattan, NY is looking for an Environmental Project Managerto join the team. Known internally as the InSite Project Manager this positions serves as the client's contact and primary interface with Clean Harbors and will support the execution of our client's environmental management program within a large manufacturing facility. Outstanding customer service and computer skills are required for this position. You will be responsible for collecting and storing waste materials. B.S. in Chemistry, Biology, or Environmental Science required. C14 certification or the ability to acquire the certification upon hire.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensuring that Health and Safety is the number one priority by complying with all safe work practices, policies, processes and acting in a safe manner.
  • Adhere to Health and Safety Practices while on site; Communicate H&S feedback with technical Services, H&S efforts upon request, including data capture, site review, and delivery of training content if needed.
  • Complete daily reports such as Excel spreadsheets and Database usage.
  • Complete environmental Waste Characterizations, Manifest, Bill of Lading and all other required regulatory forms.
  • Ensure that all environmental data is accurate and entered in a timely fashion.
  • Conduct facility wide compliance audits to include inspections of staging, accumulating and storage areas to ensure proper housekeeping and decontamination procedures,
  • Manage waste storage area and ensure that material is properly packaged, profiled and labeled prior to shipment.


What does it take to work for Clean Harbors?

  • B.S. in Chemistry, Biology, or Environmental Science is required
  • Computer Skills are required
  • C14 certification or the ability to acquire the certification upon hire.
  • Requires sitting, standing, walking, puling and/or pushing, stooping and crouching.
  • Requires lifting, carrying, grasping, speaking, and listening.
  • Ability to interact with customers and represent Clean Harbors in a professional manner
  • Ability to wear all required (PPE) personal protective equipment at all designated times
