Description:
This job is a position that supports the Compliance Studies group within the Environmental Affairs Field Services Group. This position requires water quality, biological, and other environmental field monitoring. In addition, this position will investigate innovative approaches to maintain environmental compliance in and around generation facilities, using biological, limnological, ecological, and water treatment techniques. Responsibilities include following Field Sampling and
Measurement Organization (FSMO) Effluent Limit Guidelines (ELG), Coal Combustion Residual (CCR), and other applicable state or federal mandates.
Job Requirements:
Bachelors degree in Science (environmental science, chemistry, biology, etc.)
or Engineering
Basic knowledge of environmental chemistry, limnology, fisheries, wildlife,
aquatic life and/or plant life
Ability to work safely in a physically demanding environment (hot/cold, rough
terrain, in and around water, etc.)
Ability to work a flexible schedule, including non-traditional hours and
overnight travel
Ability to use environmental monitoring equipment to collect legally defensible
data
Ability to follow detailed procedures and clearly communicate deviations
real-time
Ability to trailer, launch, and operate boats
Excellent computer skills, including the use of MS Office (Excel, Word,
PowerPoint, Teams)
Ability to work in a team environment, sharing the workload with others to
achieve common goals
