Overview:
Performs routine tests and laboratory procedures in a medical laboratory which are used to diagnose and treat diseases. Biology lab: Manage and prepare data collection tools, blood samples plasma, RNA, DNA, lymphocytes and other sample collection procedures; monitor field workMaintain patient database, log subjects in chronic experimental settingsPolysomnography: Follow sleep study protocol, including study preparation, set-up, and monitoring patients in sleep studyReports laboratory results to medical personnel or principal investigator. Maintain patient database, log subjects in chronic experimental settingsPerform polysomnographic recording PSG on patient population on demand and based on individual patient requirement The ability to use applicable electrodes and sensors based on standard operationOperates and maintains laboratory equipment, tools and supplies. Initiate the investigation into problems with clinical laboratory procedures and equipment and consult with staff regarding unsolved problemsAssist laboratory managers comply with all institute, department and federal guidelines and regulations. Research other clinical and research regulatory requirements and recommend updates to clinic processes and procedures 1Perform and review data entry and its preliminary evaluation 2Score sleep records according to Rechtschaffen and Kales and AASM, and review study protocol with subjects and document routine observations 3Designs and performs original molecular and cellular research.
