Dow has an exciting opportunity for a Senior Environmental Delivery Specialist in Midland, MI.

About you

As the Senior Environmental Delivery Specialist, you will be responsible for leading Plant Environmental compliance and implementation of the Environmental management system for one or more operations facilities. You will also serve as the Site Stack testing Coordinator and EGLE Site visit focal point. You will maintain Environmental requirements for the operations facilities they are assigned. This role requires expanded conceptual and practical knowledge in Environmental discipline and the ability to learn and implement Environmental Regulations.

Responsibilities:
  • Monthly Stack Testing Coordination for MIOPS Site.
  • Regulatory Agency Visit Notification and Coordination.
  • Environmental focused role specifically around Federal and State air regulations for Production Plants.
  • Leads and implements Environmental Management systems.
  • Leads Environmental performance improvement for assigned plant(s).
  • Coordinates, implements, and optimizes Environmental programs and compliance programs across site/hub.
  • Participates in incident investigations and the corrective action process for Environmental issues and opportunities.
  • Performs central review of all Environmental related documents and submittals to ensure consistency and compliance goals are met.
  • Performs Reasonable Inquiry per management system requirements.
  • Initiates and supports management of change (MOC) for EH&S programs and compliance matters, as necessary.
  • Acts as Agency Visit protocol owner and implementer.
  • Manages permits including submittal of permit applications for new and modified equipment, requests for permit changes, and submittal of permit renewal applications.
  • Manages are PTI Exemptions as needed for production plants assigned.
  • Coaches, trains, and mentors EH&S technicians.
  • Performs site or plant gap assessments around Environmental work process implementation.
  • Develops, reviews, monitors, creates and delivers Environmental training as appropriate.


Required qualifications:
  • A minimum requirement for this U.S. based position is the ability to work legally in the United States. No visa sponsorship/support is available for this position, including for any type of U.S. permanent residency (green card) process.


In addition to the above requirement, candidates must meet at least one of the following criteria:

1. A minimum of 5 years of manufacturing or related experience AND a minimum of an a ssociate's degree or 4 years or more of military training/experience

2. A minimum of 3 years of manufacturing or related experience AND a minimum of a bachelor's degree or relevant military experience at or above a U.S. E6 ranking or Canadian Petty Officer 2nd Class ranking

Your preferred qualifications include:
  • A degree discipline in Engineering or Environmental Science
  • Plant engineering experience
  • Environmental experience
  • Chemical manufacturing experience
  • Knowledge of waste and water regulations


Your skills, knowledge, and abilities include:
  • Being proficient in Microsoft applications, such as Word and Excel
  • Demonstrating competencies in the areas of: leadership, initiative, teamwork, and interpersonal effectiveness
  • Ensuring a safe work environment by working safely and, complying with environmental, health and safety standards
  • Strong work ethic and being able to remain productive in an empowered team environment
