Our Environmental Sector delivers comprehensive environmental solutions to meet the full project lifecycle needs of clients in renewable energy, oil & gas, transportation, and manufacturing industries. With one of the largest multimedia air and land permitting and compliance teams in the country, we support client success in manufacturing and industry, liquids delivery and processing, natural gas storage and delivery, power generation and delivery, and transportation projects.

POSITION SUMMARY

TRC is seeking a Senior Transportation and/or Environmental Planner to join it's highly successful Planning, Permitting, and Licensing (PPL) practice in San Francisco, CA. The successful candidate will bring 10-15 years of professional consulting experience providing planning, permitting, and licensing support to public and private sector clients in California.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES & TASKS

* Responsibilities of this client facing position will include line management of scopes, schedules, and budgets for a variety of project types including land use development, transportation infrastructure, energy infrastructure, and other project types as may be directed.
* Management of compliance documents under CEQA, NEPA, such as Initial Studies, Mitigated Negative Declarations, Environmental Impact Reports, Environmental Assessments, Environmental Impact Statements, as well as Proponent's Environmental Assessments.
* The role will also require supporting marketing and business development efforts, managing tasks and projects, mentoring of junior staff, and representing TRC at industry functions.

QUALIFICATIONS, SKILLS AND ABILITIES

* Excellent analytical reasoning skills, technical writing and communication skills, and proficiency with the Microsoft Office software suite.
* The ability to maintain a positive attitude during potentially demanding client engagements.
* Knowledge of local, regional, and state siting, planning, and zoning processes.
* Familiarity with land development, energy and/or transportation-related projects is preferred.
* Minimum qualifications include a Bachelor's degree in planning, natural resources, or related field, and 10 to 15 years of post-degree experience in land use and/or environmental planning. Masters' degree is preferred.
* Experienced with management of compliance documents under CEQA, NEPA, such as Initial Studies, Mitigated Negative Declarations, Environmental Impact Reports, Environmental Assessments, Environmental Impact Statements, as well as, Proponent's Environmental Assessments.
* Must have experience working with Cities and/or Counties preparing General Plans and accompanying CEQA documents.
