The Boeing Company is seeking an Associate Environmental Engineer and Scientist to join our Global Environmental Compliance and Permitting team located inPortland, OR .

The selected candidates primary responsibility will be the implementation of theenvironmentalcompliance programfor the site. This candidate will supply to permit compliance, company commitments to reduce energy, hazardous waste and water use, and other critical environmental related activities that help protect the environment. The position will afford a variety of core environmental responsibilities as well as special projects and initiatives to improve our certified ISO 14001 Environmental Management System while helping us to advance environmental Sustainability at Boeing.

Position Responsibilities:
  • Supports the development, implementation and monitoring of environmental management systems, processes and programs
  • Works with others to assess the impact of emerging environmental issues, legislation and regulations on company operations
  • Supports site collaborate with relevant regulatory agencies


This position is expected to be 100% onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at one of the listed location options.

The position must meet Export Control compliance requirements, therefore a US Person as defined by 22 C.F.R. 120.15 is required. US Person includes US Citizen, lawful permanent resident, refugee, or asylee.

BasicQualifications (Required Skills/Experience):
  • Bachelors degree or higher
  • Experience performing environmental compliance duties related to Air Pollution Control, Hazardous Waste Management, and/or Storm Water Management


Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):
  • 3+ years of experience managing external environmental audits conducted by regulatory agencies
  • Experience with air pollution control and/or stormwater regulatory compliance
  • Experience with hazardous waste program management
  • Experience developing, implementing and monitoring environmental management systems, processes and programs
  • Degree in Environmental Engineering or related environmental field


Typical Education & Experience:

Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 2 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g. Master). In the USA, ABET accreditation is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.

Relocation:
