Background & Purpose of the Job
This position is responsible for the facilitation of Unilever's environmental strategy at the Sikeston operation, including ensuring compliance with all relevant OSHA, EPA, and DNR standards, realizing leading environmental teams, and lending expertise to all environmental-related issues within the operation. Leads the Environmental Pillar and oversees all aspects of PSM. Supports and fully functional in Unilever safety polices and guidelines.
Who You Are & What You'll Do
Participate in regulatory Unilever internal auditing
Participate in regulatory Unilever internal compliance and permitting.
Target and goal setting for environmental metrics of plant (1, 3, 5 years)
Program maintenance and annual review.
Emergency response member.
Own PSM (Both Ammonia and Combustible Dust)
Monitors, analyses, and reports their overall Environmental performance data and their action plans for continuous improvement.
Understands the processes for the measurement and management of environmental impact, including resource planning/conservation and waste minimization.
Reports and communicates results, issues, and improvements to relevant stakeholders.
Enhance Green Capabilities
Identifies cost saving incentives for plant waste
Delivers Cleantech results, and projects.
Manages the wastewater facility, and all aspects concerning it.
Manage recycle and waste streams
Applies their leadership skills to encourage safe responsible behavior amongst their colleagues.
Involved in TLE - Training, Learning and Educating assets of the business.
Lead all activities within the E Pillar.
Champion MM&T/Strata reporting system.
Ability to become HAZWOPER certified, be an emergency response member and have knowledge of the EAP (Emergency Action Plan).
Lead plant training for all PSM and Environmental aspects.
Ensure compliance with environmental requirements.
Plan, organize, direct, train and motivate a diverse workforce to optimize performance.
Adapting WCM principles and processes into existing plant operations to achieve consistency with WCM requirements and measurable improvement in site KPIs.
Ongoing identification and implementation of waste and cost reduction ideas in a way that does not adversely impact operations or the Company.
Developing and maintaining a thorough understanding of current waste systems supporting the site manufacturing process.
Must be able to work across multiple shifts.
Responsible for setting the direction and change efforts. Influencing the leadership team and WCM Pillar to accomplish site goals will be an integral requirement of this position.
Maintain operational knowledge of various IT support systems.
Improve Team delivery of all KPI's within each product team to reduce cost within the operation.
Lead site expert on Unilever and regulatory compliance requirements.
What You'll Need To Succeed
Associates or B.S. degree in related field is preferred.
Experience in related discipline and management level experience preferred.
Managing Quality (Understanding internal and external customer needs and regulatory requirements). Managing Health, Safety & Environmental (Applies their leadership skills to encourage safe and responsible behavior amongst their colleagues and within their teams).
