About the Opportunity:

• A renowned, award-winning, scientific research institute located in San Diego, CA is looking for a motivated Biology Research Assistant for Molecular Neurobiology

• The institute was founded by the developer of the polio vaccine and consistently ranks among the top institutions in the US in terms of research output and quality in the life sciences.

• You will support ongoing research projects utilizing molecular and genetic tools to study neural circuits

Biology Research Assistant Responsibilities:

• Conducting sensorimotor behavioral training for mice on assays designed in the lab

• Performing stereotaxic mouse surgeries for circuit tracing, optogenetics, electrophysiology, and in vivo imaging

• Perform perfusions, dissections, tissue processing, and imaging

• Analysis of video data using computer vision tools

Biology Research Assistant Qualifications:

• Bachelor's Degree in Biological Sciences, Neuroscience, Bioengineering, or related field

• Experience with mice is preferred but not required

• Excellent communication skills, oral and written
