We are seeking a motivated individual to lead our region-based Forest Resiliency efforts and our Service Forestry teams - experts in private forestland management, working with landowners to deliver critical resources, educational opportunities, and more.

EXAMPLE OF DUTIES
Responsibilities: Our Forest Resiliency and Forest Practices Assistant Region Manager position assists the agency in the development and implementation of agency policy for two very key programs: Forest Resiliency (including smoke management, fire regulation, fuels reduction, landowner assistance) and Forest Practices. This position works under guidance from applicable laws, rules, regulations, and agency policies, procedures, and guidelines for these programs. The position is also guided by the Forest Practices Rules (passed by the Forest Practices Board) and the Forest Practices Habitat Conservation Plan; and associated local agreements which are numerous. This position reports to the Southeast Region Manager and must interact with DNR staff; the general public, state, county, and federal agencies; small and large landowners; and tribal representatives.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Field visits may involve arduous walking in theoutdoors during times of heat and/or night conditions, as well as exposure to wildfirerisks. Travel associated with forest health assessment oversight.A valid driver's license and have two years of driving experience. This position requires driving as an essential function.
