Job Description
We are looking for a motivated Environmental Health and Safety Specialist, who can conduct compliance audits and provide compliance support on site for our clients, to join our team in our Freeport, Illinois, office. We are interested in talented, trustworthy and skilled people who are passionate about providing personalized attention to our clients.
What you'll do
You will help clients develop and implement sustainability objectives, programs and goals. You will also create written safety plans and programs for clients. Another component of the job is developing written plans, permit applications and procedures for air quality, waste management, spill prevention, stormwater and wastewater. You will help clients implement environmental and safety management systems and programs, and you will prepare and conduct in-person or virtual environmental health and safety training for our clients.
We promote a team environment, so you'll learn from fellow engineers, environmental scientists and project managers. And you'll develop leadership skills that build autonomy.
What it takes
A bachelor's degree in Safety, Environmental Services or relevant experience in environmental science, geology, water resources, biology, safety, chemistry or earth sciences is a must. A minimum of three years of experience in consulting or manufacturing is preferred. Environmental health and safety experience in an industrial setting is a plus. You should understand Occupational Safety and Health Administration and Environmental Protection Agency regulations.
You should speak and write well. And you should have strong analytical and organizational skills. You must be a team player.
What you'll get
You'll have plenty of opportunities to grow professionally at our progressive and aggressive firm, which started in 1973. We offer a competitive salary, and our benefits package includes medical/life/disability insurance, 401K profit-sharing plan, paid time off and an awesome work environment.
