Environmental Health and Safety Coordinator (Nashville, TN) Position Overview: EH Safety Coordinator will be responsible for identifying, analyzing, interpreting and mitigating EHS risks at Hayward locations. Position reports to Environmental Health and Safety Manager and dotted line/in-directly to Plant Manager. Position Location:This position will be located at our office and manufacturing plant at 2935 Sidco Road Nashville, TN 37204. Successful candidate must live within a reasonable commuting distance. Local candidates will be given first consideration. The EHS Technician works 100% ONSITE and not a remote position. Work Schedule is typically Monday through Friday 7:00am - 3:30pm (approximately), but may require additional hours.

Responsibilities:
Major Tasks and Responsibilities: Responsible for the Environmental Health and Safety policies.Required to comprehend, analyze, interpret, communicate and apply EHS government industry regulations related principles and practices, and company instructions, procedures and policiesRequired to manage OSHA reporting for all required documentation as well as training on OSHA mandated topicsRequired to participate in facility inspections made by authorized government agencies as well as insurance agenciesResponsible for identifying environmental, health, safety and security risks with the organization Responsible for performing risk assessments throughout the organizationResponsible for conducting monthly EHS audits across the organization Responsible for leading the safety committee in monthly safety meetingsResponsible to train and evaluate all new, temporary, and contract employees in following security and safety procedures including wearing PPEComply with all EPA inspections and reporting requirementsFoster a work environment that promotes energy conservation and continuous improvementComply with all safety and environmental procedures, including hazardous chemical/material control, lockout-tag out programs, and other building awareness programsRespond to facility and safety alarm situations. Continually monitor upkeep of facilities to be in a safe statePrepare action plans to mitigate or decrease risk factors throughout the organizationResponsible for transforming raw data into easily understood, presentable, and actionable findingsAbility to handle multiple, concurrent tasks with accuracy and proficiency in a fast-paced environment throughout the organization Collaborating with all levels across organization to conduct and mitigate risks Provide quarterly training and certification for organization staff so that they can be aware of risks Maintain confidentiality of company-sensitive dataKeep manager informed of activities and situations that will impact the achievement of corporate or department goals and objectivesPerform other duties as assigned

Qualifications:
Qualifications Computer skills including Microsoft Office (Word, Excel & PowerPoint)Strong experience managing people with strong leadership is requiredTeam player with proven leadership skillsAbility to interact and communicate with all levels in a culturally diverse work environmentHighly organized Education and Experience:Required Associates degree or Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Environmental Health & Safety, Safety Engineering, Engineering, Industrial Hygiene, or related discipline2 to 3 years in a Safety Experience Role within a Manufacturing environment.2+ years' leadership/supervisory experience in a manufacturing environment with knowledge of Lean1+ years of Lean Manufacturing ExperienceOSHA 30 hour course completion.Excellent listening skills, experience gathering facts/data and providing solutions for problems/challenges. These actions could include collaborating with engineers and operations for problem solving and implementing solutions..Being proactive and detailed to discover /uncover any possible future issues.Self-starter and proven ability to work with minimal onsite supervisionBasic Excel experience.Previous experience using PowerPoint and delivering presentations. PreferredCertified OSHA Trainer or OSHA Certificate/Degree Program.Prior experience within OSHA or responsible for adhering to OSHA regulations.Ergonomist or Industrial Hygienist experience is a plus Physical Requirements:Must be physically able to lift up to 50 pounds frequently. Other physical tasks required include pushing, reaching, climbing, and stooping to perform tasks.Daily working in a noisy plant environment Ability to Stand/walk on concrete floors for long periods of time.Must wear approved PPE at all times in the plant.
