Assistant Professor in Integrative Disease Biology

The School of Biological Sciences (SBS), in College of Arts and Sciences (CAS), at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln (UNL) invites applications for an academic-year, tenure-track, assistant professor position in Integrative Disease Biology. The successful candidate will use integrative approaches to study causes, processes, and prevention of diseases in the natural world. This position will play a key role in furthering SBS goals to integrate across biological levels to discover interactions that shape life and health to solve global challenges.

The successful candidate will demonstrate a strong record of original research as evidenced by peer-reviewed publications. They will be expected to establish a nationally recognized and extramurally funded research program, contribute to the undergraduate and graduate teaching missions of SBS, as well as be committed to diversity and inclusive excellence. A PhD in biology or a related discipline, research experience in integrative disease biology, and postdoctoral or equivalent training is required. Experience in grant writing and instruction is favored. Preferred candidates will build upon and expand existing research and teaching expertise in the SBS (biosci.unl.edu), the Nebraska Center for Virology (unl.edu/virologycenter/), and will enhance our commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion (biosci.unl.edu/about#diversitystatement ).
