Biology Lab Assistant

Requirements:

Bachelor's Degree in Biology preferred.
Familiarity with microorganisms, conditions, and scientific processes.
Strong understanding of Biology, Laboratory Equipment, Media, and procedures.
Familiarity with inventory control.
Ability to work independently and with a team.
Good verbal and written communication skills.
Proficiency with computers, particularly Excel and Microsoft Word.

Responsibilities:

Assists in the preparation of Biology lab materials, including Chemical Media, Equipment, and Supplies.
Inventory control, and supply ordering.
Keeps track of and maintains a variety of microorganisms.
Sterilizes lab materials.
Glassware washing, general cleaning, and waste management.
Carrying out the appropriate test method for a given sample, following protocols and standard methods -understanding the differences in priorities and turnaround time­­- whenever necessary.
Preparing written reports whenever necessary.
Maintaining thorough, accurate records of tests and test results.
Maintaining records of Temperature and Humidity Logs throughout Vartest.
Assisting other departments in other projects whenever necessary.
