Position Description:

This position implements and oversees the general safety policies and procedures of assigned location within the organization. Ensures the workplace is in compliance with OSHA, EPA, and other state, local, or industry specific regulations and that periodic safety audits are conducted. Manages programs to ensure a safe workplace including safety orientations, skill training, emergency preparedness, proper job instruction, hazardous material disposal procedures, and the use of protective equipment. Implements a systemic process to collect data and analyze the causes of accidents and generate reporting. Implements initiatives to reduce and prevent accidents, occupational illnesses, and exposure to long-term health hazards.

General Duties and Responsibilities of the EHS Manager:
  • Is thoroughly familiar with occupational safety and environmental regulations and compliance strategies
  • Leads EHS activities at facility
  • Leads EHS committee(s)
  • Establish consistency in EHS and compliance activities
  • Assist in managing, and periodically evaluating EHS policies, programs, and procedures
  • Provides EHS support and awareness training management and front-line employees
  • Lead investigation of key accident events to determine root cause, including development of prevention strategies to prevent reoccurrence
  • Provide a positive leadership example by demonstrating safe behaviors and encouraging those behaviors in others
  • Monitors the health and environmental standards in compliance with applicable laws and regulations
  • Perform facility evaluation to measure and report on the level of EHS performance
  • Report to Global EHS Director status of EHS compliance and performance
  • Participate in regular analysis of statistical information, preparing and distributing relevant performance measurement reports, describing actual performance and/or opportunities for improvement
  • Conduct risk assessments on processes and equipment and recommend appropriate controls when hazards are found
  • Manage and conduct assigned location PPE hazard assessments, job safety analysis, MSDS substance lists and books, LOTO programs along with other required programs per requirements of regulated agencies.
  • Manage environmental requirements and waste recycling / disposal programs at assigned location
  • Enforce policies to establish a culture of health and safety as well as pollution prevention
  • Provide solutions to issues, improvement opportunities or new prevention measures
  • Conduct internal audits
  • Manage security efforts in assigned locations
  • Assist in managing workers compensation claims
  • Perform other related duties as assigned

  • Must be familiar with ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 quality, environmental and safety management systems
  • Utilize consumables, materials and tools in a cost-effective manner
  • Manage assigned EHS budget

Human Resources / Training
  • Ensure facility compliance to Infinite Electronics EHS and ESD policies
  • Assist in development of EHS procedures and provide training to support implementation
  • Promote and contribute to a positive team environment dominated by encouragement
  • Promote implementation of new ideas, methods, best practices, and procedures

Education and/or Experience:
  • Masters or Bachelor's degree in Occupational Safety and Health, or equivalent field.
  • 3+ years of progressive experience as an EHS coordinator or EHS manager, or a combination of work and schooling.
  • Experience in manufacturing and distribution centers.
  • Familiarity with OSHA, Cal-OSHA, ANSI, ISO, NIOSH, NFPA, NEC and other regulatory structures and experience in the management of compliance and enforcement activities of these regulators.
  • At a minimum, must have the ability to obtain ASP through BCSP within 1-2 years following acceptance of position.
  • CPR/First Aid/AED Certified / Trainer is a plus
  • OSHA outreach trainer for general industry is a plus

Reports to: Global EHS Director

Physical Job Requirements:
  • Sitting: Must be able to sit for a minimum of 4 hours
  • Walking: Throughout the facility on a continuous basis
  • Lifting/Carrying: Must be able to lift 35 lbs.
  • Climbing: Must be able to climb stairs and ladders
  • Vision: Corrected 20/20 vision required
  • Talking/Hearing: Must be able to communicate on the telephone
  • Ability to report to location at least 5 days/week

Environment: Warehouse environment, occasionally hot or cold temperatures, moderate noise level, occasional dust, chemical odors
