**Opportunity**

Abt Associates seeks a senior leader to grow our climate change practice in the area of natural and working lands, focusing on climate solutions for the farming, forestry, and other sectors. This position will involve work with a range of governments, including the US Environmental Protection Agency, US Department of Agriculture, and state, local, and national governments. Key areas of focus include emissions mitigation and sequestration analysis, policy and financing design and implementation, stakeholder engagement, and program implementation.

**Responsibilities:**

+ Lead efforts to identify, qualify, and capture new business opportunities related to natural and working lands, and climate change

+ Work with Abt technical teams to produce high-quality technical work

+ Provide technical expertise to clients in areas related to natural and working lands, including soil carbon sequestration, blue carbon, emissions measurement methodologies, and compliance and voluntary market incentives

+ Cultivate sustained client relationships

+ Lead efforts to improve Abt's reputational capital through publications, social media, and customer engagement

**Qualifications**

+ Practical or policy experience in the natural and working lands sectors (e.g., working with stakeholders on the ground, supporting policy initiatives)

+ Prior consulting experience or experience working as a federal government employee

+ Understanding of federal clients, such as the Environmental Protection Agency, Department of Agriculture

+ Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously, including setting priorities and adapting to changes in a time-sensitive, deliverable driven workplace 

+ A Master's degree in environmental management, public policy, or related area and 10 years of related experience

+ Established network of professional contacts in the climate change and natural and working lands community

+ Broad professional expertise and interest, across various energy, environmental, climate, infrastructure, and other issues in the transportation sector

+ Experience with project management and client management

**Minimum Qualifications**

+ Master's Degree + Seven years of relevant experience, or PhD + Four years of relevant experience
