Job Description
Will ensure that company complies with applicable federal, and state environmental, health, and safety (EHS) laws, regulations, and standards. Responsible for leading activities to reduce injuries, injury costs, control risks. Assists with planning, establishing, implementing, and maintaining a variety of occupational environmental, health, and programs to assure the highest possible degree of safety for associates.

Essential Job Functions

Develops, conducts, and oversees industrial EHS training activities including new hire orientation.

Develop, maintain, and continuously improve training for occupational environmental, health, and safety.

Conduct specialized safety and environmental training programs to communicate hazard control information.

Assists, conducts, and coordinates internal and/or external audits for environmental compliance and ISO 14001.

Assist with environmental waste directives to reduce items such as electricity

Identify and evaluate hazardous conditions and practices in the workplace.

Survey to identify and evaluate occupational environmental, health, and safety conditions.

Assist in the preparation of comprehensive recommendations for corrective actions to eliminate or minimize potential or existing hazards.

Conduct and coordinate on-site inspections to audit physical conditions and safe work practices.

Conduct and coordinate Safety Teams meetings.

Assist facilities in compiling, analyzing, interpreting, and reporting accident, loss, and exposure statistical data.

Incorporates essential occupational environmental, health, and safety requirements in all purchasing and control actions.

Makes recommendations for the purchase of safety equipment and supplies including personal protective equipment.

Maintain Safety r program with up-to-date incident reports, key measurements, and countermeasures. Implement and lead the Safety Task Force for assigned locations.

Education:
  • • Bachelor's Degree in Safety or related field preferred
  • Certified Safety Professional certification preferred.
  • • Auditor training through ISO 14001 preferred.

Experience:
  • • Minimum five years of functional experience as an environmental, health, and safety professional in a manufacturing environment.

Personal/Technical Skills:
  • • General understanding and working knowledge in a manufacturing, assembly, and welding environment.
  • • Demonstrate a "hands on" approach.
  • • Possess strong leadership skills and ability.
  • • Possess excellent problem solving and people skills.
  • • Ability to effectively facilitate problem solving and resolution.
  • • Possess advanced knowledge of ISO 14001 standards and compliance requirements.
  • • Ability to communicate and work well with all levels of the organization in a team environment.
  • • Strong organization, time management, and planning skills and ability to manage multiple tasks with tight deadlines.
  • • Ability to teach managers, group leaders, team leaders, and associates in basic environmental, health, and safety requirements and facilitate new hire EHS orientation.
