As a Scientist or Sr Scientist, you will join the Microbiology QC Department to perform laboratory STAT testing within a fast-paced GMP environment in support of manufacturing. You will perform testing while working onsite at a major pharmaceutical, customer site. You will perform various techniques and provide general lab support.

Essential Functions:
  • Performs routine microbiological analysis such as Bioburden, endotoxin, sterility, etc to support product/material release and stability.
  • Performs routine analysis on water samples including TOC, Conductivity, and pH.
  • Performs microbial identification using gram stain and PCR based methods.
  • Performs lab support activities such as sample receipt etc as assigned by management
  • Accepts responsibility to complete assigned tasks as committed.
  • Works with others to maintain a positive atmosphere to accomplish business objectives.
  • Revises procedures as necessary and provides support for department.
  • Support investigations or report writing
  • Support laboratory coverage on weekends and holidays on a rotating basis, as required.
  • Understands and maintains a safe work environment for themselves and others in accordance with procedural requirements.
  • Understands, implements, and maintains GMP with respect to laboratory records, procedures, and systems in accordance with procedural requirements.

Job Qualification
Education and Experience:
  • Bachelor's degree in Biology, Biochemistry, Medical Technology, Microbiology, or equivalent and relevant formal academic/vocational qualification
  • For Scientist level: Previous experience that provides the knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform the job (comparable to 2-4 years) or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience
  • For Sr Scientist level: Previous experience that provides the knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform the job (comparable to 4+) or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience

In some cases, an equivalency, consisting of a combination of appropriate education, training and/or directly related experience, will be considered sufficient for an individual to meet the requirements of the role.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
  • Candidate must have direct hands-on experience with Aseptic technique and working in a Biological Safety Cabinet.
  • Candidate must have direct hands-on experience with use of a micro pipette
  • Computer skills, such as LIMs and/or Endotoxin Endoscan software preferred
  • Understanding Microbial compendial methods
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Word
  • Proven ability to interpret data by performing trend analysis
  • Proven ability in technical writing skills
  • Ability to independently optimize analytical methods
  • Proven problem solving and troubleshooting abilities
  • Good written and oral communication skills
  • Time management and project management skills
  • Ability to work in a collaborative work environment with a team
