ICAST (International Center for Appropriate and Sustainable Technology) is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit that delivers green upgrades to multifamily affordable housing (MFAH) properties to fight the affordable housing, climate change, and social equity crises. We motivate people to act, leading to results that foster local economic development, environmental stewardship, and social responsibility in under‐served communities. By 2025, we aim to serve 100,000 LMI households annually, reduce their utility costs by $270 Million and Carbon emission by 1.5 million tons, create 2,000 sustainable jobs and invest over $100 Million in local communities.

Overview:
The Business Development Trainee will learn the mechanics of executing Multifamily, Energy Efficiency Retro-Fit sales through supporting and shadowing ICAST Business Development Managers in their day-to-day operations. The ultimate goal of the BDT will be to transition into a BDM within ICAST's Sales Department.

Compensation: $20-$25/hr DOE

- Networking with professionals involved with or connected to the Multifamily housing industry
- Performing on-site assessments of Multifamily properties as required
- Interacting with customers to obtain required data to prepare proposals and help with any changes to the project
- Preparing retrofit proposals (Scopes of Work, Contracts) for customers
- Maintaining up to date customer and project records in Salesforce CRM
Reports to: Director of Sales
Skill Level: Beginner

Requirements
Must Have Qualifications:
- Desire to build a career in Sales
- Ability to learn new skills quickly
- Some Customer Service or Sales Experience
- Strong Communication skills
- Excellent time management skill and ability to be punctual
- Strong computer skills including Microsoft 365 (email, calendar, Word, Excel etc.)
