Rye Country Day School is seeking an Upper School Biology Teacher beginning September 2022. Rye Country Day School is a coeducational, PreK-12, college preparatory school located in Westchester County, New York dedicated to providing students with an excellent education using both traditional and innovative approaches. Specific responsibilities of the position include:
  • Teach four sections of Honors Biology and/or Biology
  • Grade student work and write reports as required
  • Participate in all school, division, and departmental meetings, field trips, special activities, and rotational duties
  • Serve as an academic advisor
  • Maintain contact with advisees, deans, and parents as necessary
  • Be committed to student learning, personal growth, and seek out and participate in professional growth opportunities embracing a growth mindset

Desired qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Biology or a Biological Science required; Masters degree or higher preferred
  • Ability and flexibility to teach other science courses including Chemistry, Physics and Forensic Science
  • 3-5 years of experience teaching Biology at the Upper School level
  • Excitement for working with Upper School students
  • Excellent oral, written, and organizational skills
  • Comfort with technology including a 1:1 laptop program and online course management system
  • Genuine excitement for and ability to work with students, faculty, staff, and parents
