Environmental Health and Safety Specialist job description:
We are looking for an ambitious and responsible Health, Safety, and Environmental Specialist to join our team. As a Health, Safety, and Environmental Coordinator at our company, you will be responsible for creating and enforcing a culture of safety within our organization.
Environmental Health and Safety (HSE) Specialist duties and responsibilities:
Ensure adherence to all relevant legal rules and regulations
Educate and oversee employees on health, safety, and environmental procedures and regulations
Monitor personnel and workspace
Always ensure the company is prepared to submit all the relevant health and safety documents
Encourage and promote the use of safer work equipment, materials, and supplies
Track and report incidents and accident reports
Monitor exposure to certain hazardous chemicals and be responsible for industrial hygiene and health monitoring programs
Report to Occupational Health and Safety Administration (OSHA), PADEP, EPA, and other relevant organizations
Keep abreast of industry and market trends and best practices
Lead ISO14001 and 45001 programs and helps co-audit ISO9001 programs
Lead site-level document control program and records management
Perform facility surveys and audits
Track and report HSE and sustainability metrics
Site-level human resource responsibilities such as; workers compensation administration, benefits rollout, policy adherence, and other duties as assigned
Collaborate and build long-term relationships with key stakeholders such as legislators and politicians
Environmental Health and Safety Specialist requirements and qualifications:
Previous working experience as Environmental Health and Safety Coordinator for greater than 3 years
BS in Health and Safety, Environmental Health or similar relevant field
In-depth knowledge of Health, Safety and/or Environmental policy
Hands-on experience with performing audits and writing reports
Excellent organizational time-management skills
Great interpersonal and communication skills
