We are currently looking for an outstanding molecular biologist (PhD) to become part of an existing, experienced team of experts in molecular, synthetic, cell and micro biologies who specialize in the use of fungi to produce industrial and medically relevant molecules. This work is performed at the IFF Genecor Technology Center in Palo Alto, CA, which has been a pioneer in industrial biotechnology research.
The candidate must have experience and a strong foundation in molecular biology and physiology of microorganisms. Experience with fungal cells is preferred but not essential. We seek someone with a proven record of innovative research in one or more of the following areas: physiology, cell biology, protein expression/secretion, or synthetic biology.
Your activities will include some of the following:
Contribute to project-related molecular microbiology tasks for strain construction and improvement to create optimized cell factories
Identify and implement new, emerging developments and techniques in the field.
Prepare technical reports, data summaries, protocols and other technical and regulatory documentations.
Participate in developing an intellectual property strategy and file patent applications in collaboration with peers and the legal team
