Thank you for your interest in employment with Louisiana Tech University. Faculty Position: Assistant Professor, Microbiologist. The School of Biological Sciences at Louisiana Tech University invites applications for a tenure-track, 9-month, Assistant Professor position. We seek a broadly trained microbiologist who is committed to both teaching and research. We are particularly interested in applicants with an interest in the areas of virology, immunology, and/or the human microbiome. Applicants having research interests in one or more of these areas are encouraged to apply. The successful applicant will teach, advise, and mentor undergraduate and graduate students in support of our degree programs, including offering courses in microbiology as well as in their area of expertise. In addition, the successful applicant will be expected to establish and maintain an externally funded research program involving graduate and undergraduate students. Position requires an earned Ph.D., with postdoctoral experience preferred, in biology or a closely related relevant field; prior teaching experience is a plus. Position is available to begin September 1, 2022. Louisiana Tech University (http://www.latech.edu) is a comprehensive, selective-admissions, public university (R2-High research activity), located in Ruston, a college town of about 22,000 residents in North Louisiana. Our School of Biological Sciences is a dynamic, collegial unit with 23 faculty members and approximately 750 undergraduate students and 30 graduate (M.S. and Ph.D.) students.
