Position Title: Manager, Global Environment Position Type: Regular - Full-Time Position Location: Florenceville Main Requisition ID: 13707 Position Summary: The Global Manager, Environment is responsible for developing and leading programs, which promote the processing of resources into products while minimizing the negative environmental impact, ensuring compliance with regulatory permits, mitigating environmental risk while maintaining competitive performance. This position provides technical guidance, systems, policies and procedures, and audit functions to ensure that the above expectations are maintained and improved. Location: we offer flexibility on the location as long as you can position yourself close to any one of our key locations, globally. Core Accountabilities/Outcomes: Working in close collaboration with global SMEs, the regions and supporting external consultants, this person will execute the following tasks: * Global Environmental Compliance and Risk: * Develop and maintain policy, processes and long-term plans in support of environmental compliance for the organization. * Provide core direction, guidance, expertise in all aspects of environmental performance: legal compliance, technology implementation, sustainability and governance for the global organization. * Identify/develop best-standardized approaches and systems (including maintenance) of environmental aspects for our global operations. Act as a conduit for the sharing of these practices. * Support projects globally by acting as regulatory liaison, through the selection of technical resources (consultants, contractors, suppliers, etc.). * Environmental Management System * Maintain and improve Global Environmental Management System (ISO 14001). * Maintain and improve Global GHG Emission Inventory (ISO 14064). * Maintain and manage environmental compliance action plans - incident reporting, follow-up and tracking, sharing lessons learned. * Manage environmental performance improvement program (KPIs and related action plans for water, wastewater, solid waste, and greenhouse gas, etc.). * Maintain and improve environmental incident and performance reporting system (Intelex). * Environmental Systems Technology * Maintain standards and best practices for wastewater, air emissions, noise and solid waste. * Provide internal consultancy on design and operation of environmental systems (e.g wastewater). * Evaluate new and emerging technologies, staying abreast of worldwide industry development to maintain McCain's position in the industry. * Assist Global Manager, Resource Efficient Operations as required. Qualifications: Academic: Bachelor's Degree preferably in Environmental Sciences, Engineering or similar field Related Work Experience: * Minimum of 5 years' experience in a technical role or within environmental management in an industrial context. * Knowledge and experience in facilities assessment, field operations, project design, construction and environmental management systems. * Experience dealing with public and regulatory agencies. * Demonstrated ability to influence and drive change and an aptitude to work effectively globally. * A strong interest in sustainability and environment is critical. * Experience with ISO 14001 and Environmental Management Systems. #LI-NJ1 The health and safety of McCain employees and their families has been our number one priority since the start of the COVID-19 pandemic.
