Job Description
Why join us?

FogPharma® is pioneering the discovery, development, and commercialization of HeliconTM peptides, an exciting new drug modality that uniquely combines the cell-permeability of traditional small molecule drugs with the specificity, broad target accessibility and discovery speed of monoclonal antibody drugs.

Our patented HeliconTM peptide technology allows us to modulate the activity of well-known intracellular disease drivers that have thus far evaded small molecule and biologic therapies. FogPharma's lead program targets beta catenin , a cancer driver in the WNT pathway. Inhibition of beta catenin has the potential to benefit more than one-fifth of all cancer patients, and is just one of many opportunities that Fog's lead-discovery platform will change future medicines, therapies and lives.

Earlier this year, we closed on a $107M Series C Financing. The oversubscribed round led by top-tier investors is a testament to our powerful discovery engine and near-term trajectory in getting our lead programs to the clinic.

What's the opportunity?

Under the new leadership of our Chief Data Officer, we are building FogPharma's Data Science team into an industry-leading team. You'll be part of a data science team that is integral and instrumental to FogPharma's discovery platform, high potential pipelines, and ultimately its future success at bringing life to years and years to life to patients.

We're seeking individuals who are motivated to change the lives of patients, excited by new science, and enjoy working in a dynamic and collaborative team focusing on solving problems with no traditional boundaries.

You will be a great fit if you're eager to:
  • find and solve problems, with immense impact for patients.
  • learn drug discovery and development, and how data science and technology play a fundamental role in accelerating the process and transforming our industry.
  • develop FogPharma's integrated data science and discovery platform with speed, scalability, predictability, and universal accessibility.
  • build industry-leading discovery and development pipelines as we continue to expand and integrate data science into every aspect of our research and development.

We are seeking a highly motivated computational biology scientist to join our computational biology and bioinformatics team. You will work closely with discovery teams from new target proposal to translational science.

You will work closely with research and development team to build and progress our oncology pipeline, and:
  • Integrate data from multiple internal and external sources to identify and select new targets, elucidate compound mechanism of action in cells or in vivo models, discover biomarkers, and define patient populations.
  • Directly contribute to the design, analysis, and interpretation of -omics experiments.
  • Leverage externally developed tools or develop custom solutions to meet analysis, data visualization, and reporting needs.
  • Maintain expertise in state-of-the-art data science and genomics science. Propose and implement innovative technologies and new scientific solutions.
  • Support and contribute to the generations of patents, technical documents, external publications, and presentations.

What you'll need to be successful:
  • Ph.D. in Bioinformatics, Computational Biology, Computer science or related fields
  • Proficiency in common cancer genomics / bioinformatics databases and tools
  • Experience using cancer genomics tools and data to solve real world problems
      • Demonstrated ability to understand real world problems thoroughly and propose fit-for-purpose solutions; demonstrated ability to independently design and perform diverse bioinformatics tasks to answer questions impactful for projects
  • Strong programming skills such as R, Python, or others.
  • Must be a quick learner with strong curiosity, and stay at forefront of scientific and technological development
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills. Excellent interpersonal skills with a proven record of interacting with domain experts effectively.
