Overview:

As an Ecologist/Assistant Project Manager for Civil & Environmental Consultants, you'll work with project teams to navigate today's complex environmental regulatory landscape, helping our commercial, institutional, and energy clients to achieve and maintain compliance with regulatory criteria. You'll be part of a team led by senior ecologists who will mentor you through all stages of projects - from proposal through final deliverable. The Assistant Project Manager position sets you on a path for continued growth throughout your career. This position affords a mix of field and office work, supplemented with training in the critical areas of technical expertise, data interpretation, financial management, and client development that are needed to grow into a complete consultant.

Qualifications:

B.S. in a natural sciences field (e.g., Biology, Environmental Sciences, Ecology);

4+ years of experience in performing and leading applied ecological field studies (e.g., wetland delineation, fisheries, forestry, botany, invertebrates);

Strong written and verbal communication skills;

Solid understanding of scientific process and ability to work in team setting;

Ability to manage and prioritize multiple project needs.

Additional qualification that are a plus:

Completion of a 40-hour wetland delineation training course;

Familiarity with Section 401 and 404 Clean Water Act regulations and permitting requirements in OH, PA, WV, and KY;

Experience with routine coordination with federal and state resource agencies relative to threatened and endangered species;

Familiarity with the National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA) as it pertains to environmental assessment of federal agency actions;

Familiarity with geographic information systems (GIS);

Familiarity with electronic data collection and management;

Familiarity with ecological restoration practices.
