Job Details

  • Conduct air quality analyses, assess regulatory compliance, and perform regulatory applicability evaluations.
  • Good understanding of USEPA Reference Methods and general field testing applications for standard pollutant testing (particulates and gases)
  • Solid instrumentation and mechanical skills supporting equipment preparation, repairs, with understanding of calibrations and maintenance procedures.
  • Evaluate air pollution control technologies, including technical and economic feasibility of air pollution control equipment.
  • Transport company equipment/instrumentation to project sites with ERM-owned vehicles and trailers.
  • Travel to project sites throughout the Western U.S., approximately 75% of your schedule, for periods of 2 to 3 weeks at a time.
  • Preparation and operation of field instrumentation at project sites that involve routinely moving and setup equipment for daily air emissions testing.
  • Perform instrumentation operation, maintenance and calibration of sampling/testing equipment in field and local shop.
  • Ensure the safety of oneself and one's team members during project operations with SAFETY FIRST.
  • Support ERM's "Zero Accident" health and safety programs.
  • Work with staff in the proper planning and execution of field program.
  • Collaborate with other ERM global practitioners to support air quality projects, with teams comprised of Air Quality & Climate Change professionals

  • BS in chemical, environmental, or mechanical engineering or related science degree
  • 2-5+ years of direct field testing or direct industry experience
  • Demonstrated understanding of air emissions and emission reporting processes, including stack testing.
  • Strong hands-on spreadsheet and database comprehension.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to succeed in a fast-paced consulting environment, handling multiple project assignments, meeting strict deadlines, and traveling to client facilities as needed.
