Our client is an innovative world leader in the specialty chemical manufacturing industry. Due to their consistent growth, we are seeking a Lead Safety, Health, and Environmental Advisor to join the SHE department at their northern New Jersey headquarter facility. This role will also support their other sites in North America with travel around 15% more or less based on need. The Lead SHE Advisor will provide technical expertise in the activities associated with the Safety, Health, and Environmental Regulatory and Management System guidance for their entire NA region.

Responsibilities:
  • Ensures compliance with local, state, federal regulations and Corporate SHE requirements, and advises site management of applicability to the site
  • Leads efforts to implement and maintain NA SHE Management Systems for the Company's facilities and sector led businesses
  • Audits SHE related programs and industrial processes for compliance with regulations and established procedures
  • Conducts inspections and maintains data regarding SHE compliance requirements
  • Prepares, updates and delivers training on SHE related topics
  • Develops, reviews and updates SHE related procedures
  • Assists in investigation of SHE related incidents to determine root cause and corrective actions
  • Review data for possible recommendations for process improvement, personal protective equipment, and procedures as necessary


Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or Sciences
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of safety, health and environmental experience in similar manufacturing/lab environment
  • 1+ year of experience with Research & Development Laboratories strongly preferred
  • 1+ year working with Management Systems, Responsible Care, ISO45001 preferred
  • Ability to travel to other sites
