Sanders Engineering and Analytical Services, Inc. (SEAS), located outside Mobile, Alabama, has been serving the environmental industry for more than 40 years, specializing in air emissions testing. SEAS has an immediate opening for a qualified individual to join our team as an Environmental Specialist, primarily serving as a Field Technician. The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor's Degree in Science or Engineering with some emissions testing experience, but entry level applications will be considered.

The primary responsibilities of the Environmental Specialist will be to assist in the performance, collection, and analysis of various types of emissions from varying industrial facilities while maintaining the highest of safety, environmental, and ethical standards.

Duties and Responsibilities
  • Assist in conducting on-site testing of materials, processes, and various pollution sources.
  • Responsible for preparation of equipment and supplies for the testing programs.
  • Perform maintenance, calibration, and repair of testing equipment and laboratory instruments.
  • Ensure testing procedures follow the methods required as stated in the operating procedure.
  • Provide accurate and complete field data and lab analysis required for generating reports, including all quality control/quality assurance, for submittal to the client and regulatory agency.
  • Develop skills and assist in the preparation of necessary standard solutions and reagents required for laboratory operations.
  • Perform routine analyses of samples for various chemical parameters using titrimetric, gravimetric, and volumetric procedures.
  • Assist in maintaining quality control/quality assurance records and data.

Qualifications and Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in science related field; Chemistry or Engineering preferred
  • Strong communication skills, mechanical aptitude, and safety focus
  • Willingness to travel (approximately 75% of time in the field)
  • Capable of lifting at least 50 lbs, climbing ladders, and able to work at heights
  • Computer skills (light typing, data entry, spreadsheet analysis)
  • Candidate must have a valid driver's license, acceptable driving record, and ability to obtain DOT medical certificate
  • Capable of passing initial drug screening and continuing random drug checks
