JOB
The Town of Needham's Department of Health and Human Services seeks the services of one or more motivated, smart, and enthusiastic people to provide support on special projects related to public health, aging, and youth in Needham. The Senior Public Health Associate will work on a variety of initiatives, based on departmental priorities. Projects may include program development, quality improvement, communications, and evaluation. She/he/they will need to feel comfortable working across different health and human services issues, such as healthy aging, affordable housing, and climate change. This position will involve grant writing to advance the department's goals.

Develop, implement, and evaluate programs; translate research into practiceLead grant application processes, including identifying and writing grantsInteract and collaborate with different stakeholders in NeedhamDevelop and disseminate communications materials
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Skilled in verbal and written communications; experienced grant writingExperience developing, managing, and evaluating programsExperience communicating and presenting information in public settingsExperience working and studying in the fields of public health or human services, Masters-level or above preferred but not required. Candidates with a bachelor's degree and significant work experience are just as highly sought.Commitment to principles of public health, LGBTQ+ affirming, and dedicated to the pursuit of racial equity, trauma-informed service, positive youth development, intersectionality, cultural humility, restorative justice, and collective impact.
SUPPLEMENTAL INFORMATION
Part-time Professional/Technical Support Specialist II (PTS+) position at salary of $32.74 per hour. This part-time position is not benefit-eligible. Hours 19.5 hours per week, mixed between on-site and remote work. Work will generally be performed during standard business hours but may require some evenings. Please note that depending upon operational needs, there may be more than one Senior Public Health Associate position available. One or more of the positions may be a grant-funded position with an expected duration of approximately 6 months.
