About this Role
As the Scientist I, you will be involved with the identification and development of translational preclinical fluid biomarkers, and the implementation of those measures in early-stage clinical trials to measure therapeutic activity of Biogen's drug candidates targeting neuromuscular disorders and for patient selection/enrichment in clinical trials.

About this Role
As the Scientist I, you will be involved with the identification and development of translational preclinical fluid biomarkers, and the implementation of those measures in early-stage clinical trials to measure therapeutic activity of Biogen's drug candidates targeting neuromuscular disorders and for patient selection/enrichment in clinical trials.
What You'll Do:
- Develop and implement biomarker assays and strategies in support of preclinical studies and phase I/II clinical trials of small molecule, biologic, and ASO modalities
- Utilize state-of-the-art technical approaches and instrumentation involved in molecular biology for the development of novel fluid biomarker measures and hands-on assay development.
- Assess platform capabilities in house to support biomarker analysis and provide deep technical expertise across platforms
- Apply basic laboratory techniques related to molecular biology, cell biology, neuroscience, or similar relevant field
Qualifications
- BS/MS or PhD with 5+ years relevant experience in a biopharmaceutical setting
- Demonstrated experience, particularly at the preclinical to early clinical development stages
- Experience with molecular biology techniques such as ELISA and ultrasensitive immunoassay platforms, and protein quantification.
- Experience with biological sample handling, including BL2 samples.
- Solid understanding of experimental design, underlying scientific principles, and the ability to rigorously analyze and document results.
- Adept at following protocols and should have the scientific experience to modify/troubleshoot it when necessary.
- Strong interpersonal and organizational skills, ability to clearly communicate results and to maintain detailed written records.
