Position Summary:

AEMTEK is looking for microbiology laboratory technicians to perform scientific analyses and contribute to our lab operations serving the Bay Area's top food and environmental companies. Laboratory technicians are responsible for carrying out sample preparation and testing, performing, and coordinating quality control work, maintaining and improving lab operations, assisting in special projects, and ensuring an organized and clean lab space. AEMTEK has a strong culture of teamwork and integrity.

We are hiring for both full time and part-time positions, so part-time graduate students are also welcome to apply.

Qualifications desired:

• Associate or B.S. degree in biology, chemistry, or other related sciences.
• Prior laboratory work experience is a plus.
• Strong academic and employment records.
• Organized and responsible.
• Good written and oral communication skills.
• Detail-oriented, a fast learner, and team-oriented.
• Ability to maintain deadlines, follow SOPs and instructions, and work well under pressure.
• Contribute positively to the lab environment with a can-do attitude and can adapt to changing environments.
• Willing to work weekends and have flexibility in evening overtime.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
• Working conditions may include standing for long periods of time and lifting sample boxes up to 40 lb.
