EHS/ISO QMS Manager

Job Summary:

The Environmental Health, and Safety/ISO QMS Manager will implement policies to ensure a safe and healthy work environment, manage the corporate ISO Quality system for US operations and coordinate the site Corporate Social Responsibility program.

Duties/Responsibilities:
  • Inspects the facility to identify safety, health, and environmental risks.
  • Ensure compliance with all applicable government EHS regulations.
  • Work with EHS consultants to manage risk assessment audits.
  • Manage third party audits with customers, regulatory agencies and contractors for the site.
  • Develops and implements inspection policies and procedures, and a schedule of routine inspections.
  • Develops health and safety procedures for all areas of the company.
  • Prepares and schedules training to cover emergency procedures, workplace safety, and other relevant topics.
  • Monitors compliance with safety procedures.
  • Drafts inspection reports to document inspection findings.
  • Ensures that material safety data sheets are maintained and readily accessible when needed.
  • Maintains hazardous waste program and manages employee HazCom program.
  • Manages ISO/QMS processes/procedures and practices to ensure quality systems compliance with direction from Corporate QMS/ISO Director.
  • Promote and ensure Corporate Social Responsibility program requirements are documented

and enforced.
  • Complete our customers' CSR form and questionnaires.
  • Communicate ISO and QMS standards to all employees, customers, and vendors.
  • Ensure that all new staff are inducted into the requirements of the QMS related to their own

roles and responsibilities.
  • Ensure that an internal audit program is adopted on site to verify that the QMS conforms to

planned arrangements, QMS arrangements and is effectively implemented and maintained.

Ensure that appropriate action is taken when this is not the case.
  • Co-ordinate continual improvements of the QMS, ensuring that evidence of corrective and preventive actions taken are recorded and reviewed.
  • Ensure equipment protocols meet the ISO/CSR standards.

Required Skills/Abilities:
  • Extensive knowledge of environmental regulations and OSHA policies.
  • Knowledge of Quality systems and processes.
  • Knowledge of sustainability programs.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Proficient in technology and equipment used in environmental inspections.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite or similar software.

Education and Experience:
  • Bachelor's degree in Environmental Safety, Occupational Safety and Health, or related field required, Master's degree desirable.
  • Experience in ISO or similar quality systems; MS office proficiency.
  • Three - Five years of related experience preferred.


Physical Requirements:
  • Physically able to conduct inspections and carry equipment used for inspections.
  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds at a time.
