Associate Scientists, Translational Cancer Biology

Cyteir Therapeutics seeks a highly skilled and self-motivated Associate Scientist to join the Translational Research Team to help advance the development of our small molecule oncology portfolio. This research associate will be a key contributor to the execution of the translational strategy to identify cancer indications, PD and patient selection biomarkers, and combination and differentiation strategies to help identify the right patients to treat in the clinic. The ideal candidate will have experience in molecular and cellular biology, with an emphasis on cancer biology.

Job Responsibilities:
  • Contribute to the translational research team helping us make novel discoveries to advance our pipeline assets
  • Deliver high-quality data to enable the identification of novel predictive and pharmacodynamic biomarkers and understanding the mechanism of action of our small molecule inhibitors
  • Perform a wide variety of standard molecular and cellular laboratory techniques, and implementation of novel assays, such as DNA damage repair-related techniques
  • Work closely with our multi-disciplinary team of scientists, and analyze and interpret results to help advance our scientific priorities
  • Stay up to date on relevant scientific literature and research techniques
  • Maintain meticulous notes and up-to-date laboratory notebook records
  • Provide verbal and written updates of results at team meetings
  • Act in accordance with all Cyteir Therapeutics policies and be a positive contributor to company culture


Job Qualifications
  • BS/MS in molecular or cellular biology or a field related to biomedical sciences and 3+ years industry work experience in discovery or translational biology with oncology focus
  • Extensive experience in cell culture techniques with cancer cell lines, including multi-well assays to evaluate viability and molecular endpoints
  • Experience in standard laboratory techniques, including western blotting, qPCR, immuno-precipitation, and hands-on experience with CRISPR, RNAi, and small molecule inhibitor treatment of cancer cell lines
  • Experience with DNA damage repair-related techniques and assays is a plus
  • Good working knowledge of industry-standard software (MS Office, GraphPad, etc.)
  • Well organized and able to maintain detailed records of experimental work
  • Ability to communicate clearly and decisively in an open, timely manner
  • The courage to say, "I don't know" and to ask for help
  • A sense of adventure and excitement to help build a successful biotech company and work in a highly dynamic research environment
