Description:

Position Summary: The Environmental Coordinator is responsible for assisting in tracking, logging, and maintaining compliance in regards to hazardous waste, training, waste storage and hauling, ISO compliance, and other environmental initiatives.

Essential Functions:

Coordinate and document activities in waste prevention and reduction, recycling, energy conservation, and air quality to adapt to standards in Green Star Program for achieving Green Star Award, as well as compliance with the EMS and ISO 14001:2004

Research and update of company, federal and state environmental regulations and policies related to the work and assist RISK MANAGER in applying them as needed

Conducts weekly inspections of recycling areas and follow up of corrective action items documenting strengths and weaknesses as appropriate and reports results to the Risk Manager and DM

Assists the Risk Manager with training programs and EMS and ISO 14001:2004 documentation as needed

Participate in internal ISO 14001:2004 audits Assists the RISK MANAGER with coordination, implementation, and documentation of environmental and greening programs within different departments

Other duties and tasks as assigned by manager

Qualifications:

Demonstrates interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal

Ability to use computer programs and applications

College course work in environmental studies preferred

Valid US Driver's License
