Atkore, a recent recipient of a Great Place to Work© certification, is currently searching for a Safety & Environmental Supervisor to be based out of Hebron, OH. Reporting to Plant Manager, this person will be responsible for continuously monitoring and adapting safety procedures and operations to ensure a safe and fully compliant work environment for all employees.

Additional Responsibilities Include, But Are Not Limited To
  • Adherence to Atkore Safety / Life Saving Rules is paramount
  • Ensures compliance with federal, state, and local regulations pertaining to environmental, health and safety, and maintain record keeping documents
  • Plans and implements policies, procedures, and programs in compliance with local, Federal Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) and EPA regulations
  • Plans and implements programs to train supervisors and employees in work site safety practices and to enhance the company safety culture
  • Inspect facility to detect existing or potential accidents and health hazards, determine corrective or preventive measures and follow up
  • Assist with the investigation of accidents and injuries and cooperate in the preparation of material and evidence for organization use
  • Compile and submit accident and/or environmental reports required by the corporation and regulatory agencies from initial report to closure
  • Maintain S&E files and records
  • Ensure timely submittal, acquisition and maintenance of all environmental permits and reports to maintain compliance with state and federal requirements
  • Assist in monitoring the skills and capabilities of those assisting with or leading S&E programs and recommend training
  • Lead continuous improvements and execute Best Management Practices to transform the culture by engaging the workforce
  • Ensure compliance and accurate reporting of incidents and corrective actions, all strategic safety targets to improve, key performance indicators and environmental metrics
  • Maintain chemical inventories to include SDS review, hazard communication training and industrial hygiene studies
  • Schedule and coordinate all safety training required at the site following the Atkore Safety Cycle and Atkore Procedures and Standards
  • Provide support to leadership as needed
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in a related field from an accredited 4-year university or 5 years or more related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Experience in a manufacturing environment preferred
  • Requires basic knowledge of OSHA General Industry standards
  • Ability to work non-traditional hours or shifts and travel as required
  • Must have excellent verbal, written skills and interpersonal skills along with ability to make presentations comfortably and professionally to large groups
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office
  • Experience in a fast paced, high volume manufacturing environment
  • Ability to work in a team-oriented environment
