We are delighted to be partnered with a biotechnology company is Cambridge, MA, who are on a mission to reinvent drug discovery by combining genomics with AI and synthetic biology to address previously intractable therapeutic challenges. They have discovered hundreds of potentially high-impact drug candidates relevant to targets across all major disease areas. Currently, the team are focused on developing highly impactful medicines in oncology and immune modulation, but they have the freedom to explore other disease areas in the future.

They secured Series B funding at the start of 2021 and have ambitious plans for growth over the next 12 months and beyond.

We are looking to recruit a Senior Scientist, Computational Biology and Genomics to join their growing team in early 2022. The role is open to a hybrid working model, but there will be some travel required to the site in Cambridge, MA.

Key Responsibilities

· Develop and implement creative genomic discovery algorithms

· Execute scalable computational discovery algorithms on the cloud

· Integrate analyses of multiple data types to uncover novel insights

· Follow good practices in software development

· Work with other team members in implementing collaborative solutions

· Gather, organize, and present findings in R&D meetings

Experience Required

• Ph.D. or M.Sc. in Computational Biology, Genomics, Bioinformatics, Systems Biology, or related field

• Strong programming skills and experience in algorithm development (e.g., Python)

• Skilled in data analytics and visualization

• Experience in the implementation of Machine Learning algorithms

• A track record of proven impact through the application of computational biology approaches (e.g., comparative genomics, phylogenomics, pathway analysis, metagenomics)

• Familiarity with versioning tools such as git

• Experience in developing pipelines and executing them on the cloud (AWS, GCP, Nextflow, Docker)

• Excellent written, organizational and documentation skills

• Spirit of collaboration and solutions-oriented thinking to enable success in a diverse team environment
