How you will make contributions that matter...
MANAGES PLANT SAFETY PROGRAMS TO ENSURE SAFE AND ACCIDENT-FREE WORK ENVIRONMENT. IMPLEMENTS SAFETY CONCEPTS TO PROVIDE AN ACCIDENT-FREE WORKPLACE. PLANS AND/OR DELIVERS PROGRAMS TO TRAIN MANAGERS AND EMPLOYEES IN WORK SITE SAFETY PRACTICES. PROMOTES PLANT SAFETY BY WORKING WITH ALL DEPARTMENTS TO ANALYZE CURRENT SITUATIONS AND RECOMMEND SAFETY IMPROVEMENTS. ANALYZES ACCIDENT DATA TO IDENTIFY TRENDS AND ACCIDENT TYPES THAT CAN BE PREVENTED.

What You'll Do at Saputo
* Responsible for all aspects of safety, including OSHA, Illness and Injury Prevention Program, SDS, safety audits, and accident investigations; work with other departments with workers' compensation, Risk Management Plan and Process Safety Management, Bio-Security, Foreign Material Prevention.
* Responsible for verifying new equipment/construction meets federal and state regulations.
* Conduct and/or facilitate safety programs and OSHA required training and certifications; ie., forklift, confined space, lockout/tagout, and CPR/First Aid training; conduct fire drills; perform new hire and annual safety training.
* Reviews Incident Investigation Report to ensure completeness and that appropriate action is taken to prevent recurrence; Facilitates RCA's for injuries and illnesses.
* Serves as or obtains safety expertise for the various plant functions in dealings with the OSHA; including updates to management on current laws and regulations.
* Manage OSHA compliance, state and local regulatory compliance
JOB REQUIREMENTS
WHO IS RIGHT FOR THE ROLE
* Three (3) or more years' experience in an industrial manufacturing setting, preferably food manufacturing, with major concentration of job duties relating to environmental, health and safety.
* Bachelor's degree in Health & Safety Management, or in a related field, and/or the equivalent experience.
* Strong understanding of Cal/OSHA regulations and Workers' Compensation claim mitigation and management.
* Hands on experience in successfully leading, coaching, motivating and developing a team environment within safety; strong communication skills, customer service skills and interpersonal skills. Strong analytical and organizational skills with attention to detail.
* Available to work on all shifts (when needed) to resolve issues and/or evaluate employee environment
